ATL — BBBSMA is thrilled to celebrate 120 years of mentorships with Big Brothers Big Sisters of America! To commemorate this special milestone anniversary, we need to recruit 120 new monthly donors to help match children on our waitlist with a Big.

By becoming a Match Maker for just $10/per month (that’s $120/per year!), you help our Bigs reach their full potential and create lasting, transformative relationships with children facing adversity in our communities in Metro Atlanta. Here’s a few of their impactful stories —

Meet Matt. He serves on the BBBSMA Board of Directors and he’s a Match Maker aka monthly donor. Matt met his Little, Oumar, as a part of the Beyond School Walls program at Insight Global. He shared “BBBS is proactively investing in the future of our community. The kids who sign up to join this program have so much potential and all they need is someone to help them reach their potential. The worst thing is that people raise their hands, and we don’t have the mentors to support them.”

Christian, a dedicated Big Brother to Brayan since 2014, is also a Match Maker who knows the importance of small but impactful changes in a child's life. This year, Christian and Brayan are celebrating ten years of their match. Brayan is now a high school senior, and the pair enjoy sharing their love for soccer and working on college applications together.

Meet Brittany, she’s a Customer Relations Specialist at BBBSATL. She's also a Big to Makiyah and a Match Maker. She was inspired to become involved with BBBSATL after her professor at Georgia State University shared the impact of the organization. She likes donating monthly because it comes out of her paycheck. Her monthly donation takes the stress out of donating at the end of the year, and she knows that she’s making an impact.

Last but certainly not least, Ellen Marsh and her husband, Zach have been Bigs to Joseph since June 2018. BBBMSA Board member, Peter Lauer inspired Ellen and Zach to sign up to be Bigs. Now Ellen serves on our Young Leader’s Council! The 3 enjoy going to see Marvel movies, reading comic books, exploring the city, and cooking together. Their specialty? Pizza. Joseph taught Ellen and Zach to put hot sauce on their pizza and they're big fans. She's seen the impact of mentorship on Joseph. Ellen became a monthly donor because she desires to "be impactful, not forgetful."

Join us in celebrating the thousands of Bigs and Littles and their life-changing relationships by giving a child on our waitlist the gift of mentorship. Every donation makes a difference. Imagine the impact on Atlanta youth if everyone donated $10/per month ($120/per year). Become a monthly donor aka Match Maker today and empower Atlanta's youth all year long.
