Little Brother of the Year Steps Into the Spotlight as ATL UTD Honorary Captain
Big Brothers Big Sisters of Metro Atlanta’s Little Brother of the Year, Kaiden, stepped onto the field as an Honorary Captain for Atlanta United’s match against Nashville SC.

In front of thousands of cheering fans, Kaiden was introduced as Little Brother of the Year, a Big Brothers Big Sisters mission ambassador, and a young leader on the rise. It was a once-in-a-lifetime experience for Kaiden and his family.
Kaiden’s journey is deeply connected to his Big Brother, Lance Horne, who has been a steady and transformative presence in his life over the past three years. Named the 2026 Big Brother & Little Brother Match of the Year, Lance and Kaiden exemplify what mentorship can truly achieve.

Lance’s story comes full circle. Once a Little Brother himself, he became a Big to pay forward the same life-changing guidance he received. “Mentorship changed my life,” says Lance. “Becoming a Big was never a question — it was a promise to pay it forward.”
Kaiden has achieved significant academic growth, now earning mostly A’s and B’s. Beyond the classroom, he’s developed stronger emotional awareness, accountability, and leadership skills at home and in his community.
During one of the most challenging seasons in Kaiden’s life, Lance remained a constant source of stability and encouragement. “Lance is someone I can always count on,” Kaiden shares. “He pushes me to do my best and reminds me that I can handle more than I think.”
The pair has been featured in a national Big Brothers Big Sisters campaign and has represented the organization at major events like Fashion Play and the Legacy Luncheon. Now, stepping onto the field as Honorary Captain added another milestone to their journey together.
Serving as an Honorary Captain is a recognition of leadership. The experience included participating in pre-game moments and standing alongside professional athletes during the coin toss. It places young leaders like Kaiden at the center of a major stage, celebrating their story in front of an entire community.
