Why did you become a Big?

I became a Big to make a meaningful impact on youth. Growing up without an older sibling, I wanted to provide that support and inspiration for the next generation, while also pushing myself outside of my comfort zone.

How has a mentor impacted your life?

Being a Big has been transformational in my growth as a person, mentor, and sibling. It has challenged me to improve my communication, empathy, and understanding, all of which have made me a better individual.

What’s the most rewarding part of being a Big?

The most rewarding part is building a strong relationship with your Little and watching them grow and improve over time. Seeing their progress is incredibly fulfilling.

Advice for a new Big?

Be patient with the process. It can be challenging for both you and your Little, but remember, every step is an investment in their growth.

Simple ways to support your Little?

Listening and meeting your Little where they are is key. Also, prioritizing time together without distractions shows them they are valued.

Anything else you’d like to share?

Youth development is vital for building stronger communities, so consider becoming a Big. It’s one of the most impactful things you can do.
