Celebrating the Power of Mentorship with Big Brothers Big Sisters of Metro Atlanta

ATLANTA — On August 22nd, Big Brothers Big Sisters of Metro Atlanta gathered to celebrate the Power of Mentorship at the beautiful Colliers Atlanta office in Midtown. This cultivation event acknowledged the collective effort of our community, the long-lasting impact of our work, and the personal growth of our mentors.

President and CEO, Kwame Johnson, commenced the evening by recognizing and welcoming the new Bigs present and expressing gratitude for their commitment to establishing a supportive network for our youth. He also highlighted the significant achievements of our Level Up program and outlined the vision for the future of Big Brothers Big Sisters of Metro Atlanta.

Kwame proceeded to moderate a diverse panel in recounting their personal stories and insights gained from different mentoring initiatives in schools and communities.

Speakers included former NFL player turned financial advisor Ronnie Brown Jr., film industry professional and mentor Tony Poon, Level Up mentor Trikelia Browning, and Big Sister of the Year 2024 Kim Lewis who highlighted the transformative results of mentorship in their lives and the crucial role of donor support in enabling these success stories.

The event provided a platform for attendees to connect, exchange viewpoints, and emphasize the life-changing impact of mentorship. The atmosphere was filled with inspiring conversation and a shared dedication to create positive change in the lives of young people.

As an extra treat, attendees savored delicious bites prepared by Shandra Turner (@TheBougieGrazer), who artfully crafted a beautiful graze table for everyone to enjoy.
