Highlights from Level Up this month
The Level Up program continues to shine across metro Atlanta schools bringing students, mentors, and families together. Here’s a look at some of the incredible moments from this month.
Family & Friends event
On Tuesday, Oct. 28, the Young Middle School Level Up Team hosted its first-ever Family & Friends Event! A total of 64 attendees gathered for an afternoon full of fun, laughter, and learning alongside their mentors.
The evening featured interactive games and activities, a meet-and-greet with Lead Mentors, and dinner complete with raffles and door prizes. Families also had the chance to learn more about the Level Up Program, explore available BBBS resources, and connect with staff from The Den at Young Middle School.
It was the perfect reminder that when families and mentors come together, students thrive.

Bunche Middle School recognitions
At Bunche Middle School, mentorship lessons are coming to life in the most inspiring ways. Several of our incredible 8th Grade Littles were recently recognized by their peers for outstanding leadership and school involvement:
- Ibrahima – Mr. Cross Country
- Terrod – Mr. Blue & Gold
- Croix – Mr. Bunche
- Josiah – Mr. Computer Science
- Taylor – Ms. 8th Grade
- Bria – Ms. Bunche
To earn these honors, students crafted campaign speeches, practiced public speaking, and connected with classmates across grade levels. Competing against friends while maintaining positivity and respect took courage and character, qualities strengthened through their time in Level Up group sessions on communication, teamwork, and self-expression.
We couldn’t be prouder of these young leaders for representing their school and their peers with excellence!

Arielle shares her story.
At the heart of Level Up is the power of mentorship, and few stories show that better than Senior Lead Mentor Stephanie Harris and her Little, Arielle.
After working together one-on-one last year, Stephanie supported Arielle in achieving her goal of joining a Level Up group this school year. In her very first week, Arielle stood before her peers to deliver a moving presentation about herself, her autism journey, and her excitement to be part of the group.
It was a moment of bravery, inclusion, and connection. Through mentorship, Arielle found the confidence and support to share her story and inspire others.
