Holiday giveaway provides 150 turkeys to Chattahoochee Valley families
Our recent Holiday Box Giveaway was a true highlight of the season. Big Brothers Big Sisters of the Chattahoochee Valley (BBBSCV) partnered with the Civic Controllers to make sure families in our community felt supported. With their help, 45 families in our program received turkeys for Thanksgiving. The rest were given out in the community, bringing the total to 150 donated turkeys.

The BBBSCV team showed up in a big way and worked hard to make distribution smooth from start to finish. We are especially grateful for the steady leadership of Stanley Wright, President of The Controller’s Civic and Social Club. His team of military veterans has stood with us year after year, helping families in Columbus during both Thanksgiving and Christmas. Their commitment has shaped this tradition and helped it grow.
Our goal each year is simple: make sure families can enjoy Thanksgiving dinner together and make sure kids have something to look forward to at Christmas. This year we pushed that mission even further. With 150 turkeys given out, we surpassed last year’s total and reached even more households.
This partnership is a reminder of what can happen when a community shows up for one another. We are grateful for every volunteer, every partner and every family who helped make this season brighter.
