Big Sister & Little Sister Match of the Year: Priya D’Souza & Little Sister Ashlee

Each year, Big Brothers Big Sisters of Metro Atlanta recognizes mentors whose dedication exemplifies what it truly means to be a Big. We are proud to announce Priya D’Souza and Ashlee as our 2026 Big Sister & Little Sister Match of the Year.

Priya D’Souza has invested in her Little Sister Ashlee’s growth for more than five years, academically, emotionally, and personally. Ashlee describes her Big Sister as someone who truly understands her and supports her through both challenges and milestones. With Priya’s guidance, Ashlee has grown in confidence and clarity about her future.

“There have been difficult moments that required resilience, and Ashlee has risen to them,” Priya says. “I’m proud of the strength and maturity she continues to show.”

As a Health Scientist at Emory University, Priya has inspired Ashlee to also pursue a future in healthcare. Priya’s mentorship has strengthened her belief in what she can achieve. “When Priya talks about her work, it doesn’t feel out of reach,” Ashlee says. “It makes me think, ‘Why not me?’”

Priya is also leader within our organization. She serves as an active Participant Advisory Council (PAC) leader, volunteers regularly at special events, and has represented BBBSMA in interviews, video storytelling, and a national BBBS ad campaign. She uses her voice to recruit and inspire future Bigs, serving as a powerful ambassador for mentorship across metro Atlanta.
