BBBSMA annual picnic draws 700+ for western-themed celebration

More than 700 Bigs, Littles, families, and community partners joined Big Brothers Big Sisters of Metro Atlanta for our annual picnic on Oct. 11.

This year’s western–themed celebration featured games, food, and fun for all ages. From pumpkin decorating and arts and crafts to tug-of-war and a lively line dancing contest, there was something for everyone to enjoy.

The Same House and Hands On Atlanta selected Big Brothers Big Sisters of Metro Atlanta for a Marquee Hands On Atlanta Week volunteer project leading up to the event. They provided volunteers and fun swag bags for Bigs and Littles as part of the 2025 Beloved Collaboration.

One of the day’s highlights was the line dancing contest, where a Big and Little in matching red and black checkered outfits took home the top prize. The Littles also triumphed in the Bigs vs. Littles tug-of-war, showing off their strength and spirit!

Guests enjoyed beverages donated by Coca-Cola, along with cotton candy, popcorn, and Bubble Nation treats. Volunteers from Hands On Atlanta and Same House helped with serving food, distributing swag bags, and leading the pumpkin decorating station, while Aprio hosted a creative arts and crafts activity. Chick-fil-A also generously provided meals for volunteers.

The event brought together every part of the BBBSMA community, match support staff and Big Futures participants to alumni and longtime supporters. Music from the DJ kept the crowd dancing all afternoon.

A big thank-you to our amazing partners: Hands On Atlanta, Same House, Aprio, and Coca-Cola for helping make this event possible.
