ATLANTA — On June 18th, Big Brothers Big Sisters of Metro Atlanta launched MENtors – our giving circle for men of service who are passionate about Mentorship and who financially support the agency. Hosted at Thompson Atlanta – Buckhead, the MENtors Mixer provided the opportunity to network, connect, and hear a few testimonies from guest panelists about the power of mentorship and why it’s so important to get engaged now.
Big Brothers Big Sisters of Metro Atlanta CEO Kwame Johnson was joined on the panel with BBBSMA Big Brother and City of Atlanta partner Greg Clay with The Mayor’s Office of Constituent Services, BBBSMA Board Member Malcolm K. Berkley of UPS, and 2022 Big Brother of the Year and Big Alum Christian Doetsch of Synersix and Lemoney Learning. It was an inspiring and moving evening.
Attendee Charles Ramseur Sr. said of the agency and on LinkedIn, “They are truly changing lives with their MENtoring program… Honored to be amongst people with such BIG hearts and have the willingness to be the change.”
The launch event included current and alumni Board Members, Big/Little Brothers, Young Leaders Council members, volunteers, and donors. Also in attendance were several leaders and members of Brothers United Atlanta. “I am honored to be part of this community of men who are willing to invest in our most important asset – our youth,” says Kwame Johnson, President and CEO. “Many of our MENtors are volunteers, but they are also willing to step up and support the agency financially. I am excited to continue connecting with this group of extraordinary leaders.”
If interested in becoming a 2023 Founding Member of MENtors, gift or pledge a minimum of $1,000 to the Annual Fund and receive an invitation to the next members-only MENtors Mixer in September. MENtors can also join by making a monthly gift of $84. 100% of each gift is designated to matching young people on our waiting list with a Big Sister or Brother of their own.
