BBBSMA Holds EPIC Annual Picnic Thanks to Our Community Heroes
ATLANTA — On October 12th, 2024, Big Brothers Big Sisters of Metro Atlanta (BBBSMA) hosted its highly anticipated Annual Picnic at Pittsburgh Yards, and what a marvelous day it was! This beloved event brings together our dedicated volunteers, the incredible kids enrolled in our programs, and their families for an afternoon filled with joy, laughter, and connection — all at no cost.
This year presented a Superhero theme that added an extra layer of excitement to the festivities. With approximately 800 attendees, including Bigs, Littles, families, friends, staff, and community partners, the atmosphere was electric! Our picnic featured delicious meals generously provided by Whataburger along with a variety of snacks and beverages to keep everyone fueled for fun.
In addition to the tasty eats, guests enjoyed live music and even had the chance to win fantastic raffle prizes, including a PS5 and gift cards! Littles had a blast with face painting, arts & crafts, and a host of activities and games, including the famous tug of war, which kept their smiles shining all day long. The highlight of the event was undoubtedly the special appearance by five cherished superheroes: Spiderman, Black Panther, Superwoman, Captain Marvel, and Batman. Their presence truly made the day one to remember!
This year, CVS/Aetna made a significant contribution by offering free biometric health screenings, which added even more value to the day for our community and families.
