Corporate Community Mentoring Program
Supporting the Big Brothers Big Sisters Corporate Community Mentoring program is a great way for companies to make a direct and sustained impact on the lives of children who not only need a caring, adult mentor but also live right in the company’s surrounding area. How could your company benefit from this high impact program?
The Corporate Community Mentoring program (CCM) is a two-year program in which a company provides direct support for matching caring adults with children in need within a specified set of zip codes that may be adjacent to the company's headquarters. It is a turn-key approach to implement the company’s community engagement agenda through an evidence-based program that achieves significant youth development results. Children engaged in BBBS mentoring matches have demonstrated improved academic performance, improved attitudes towards school and learning, higher levels of self-confidence and a much expanded sense of their futures.
Over the course of the two-year partnership, your company’s annual donation supports the Corporate Community Mentoring program in your company’s name, which includes 20 community-based matches throughout the targeted zip codes. Both the children and the mentors in these matches reside in the community. Some of the mentors may even be your employees!
The program is supported by a dedicated Match Support Specialist, webinar-based mentor training, a twice-per-year e-newsletter and a dedicated private page on the BBBSMA website, password-restricted for the Corporate Community Mentoring program where the matches can interact, share information, ideas and activities. There is no requirement for employee volunteers nor is there any administration required on the company’s part.
Your employees, the mentors and the children are all invited to an annual picnic outing to celebrate the great work everyone involved has done for the community’s children. If desired by the company, we can also help organize an annual field trip event where the program's matches spend time visiting the company's location. This helps develop a community of committed company advocates and a talent pipeline for future interns and employees.
An annual report on the program is prepared and submitted to your company at the end of each year. The report will highlight match activities and success stories but also summarize the development outcomes achieved by the mentoring activity during the year.
Your company will also be recognized as a Corporate Community Mentoring Program Partner on our website and in our agency promotional media.
Consider the Corporate Community Mentoring program as a way to make a tangible, recognized impact in the community your company serves. Your support will help to reduce the list of children, mostly boys, who are waiting for a mentor as well as enable mentoring relationships to create new futures for children in need.
