BBBSMA Celebrates 50 Years
“50 for 50”
50 Years of Big Impact
Going Big for 50 More
It has been 50 years since Big Brothers Big Sisters of Metro Atlanta first opened its doors in July of 1960. In that 50 years, we have created many reasons to celebrate:
• 50 years of serving metro Atlanta’s children
• 50 years of increasing children's self confidence
• 50 years of cultivating academic success
• 50 years of making a positive impact on the community
It has been a busy 50 years for BBBSMA, and it's about to get busier. BBBSMA has big plans to use our anniversary to build awareness and to leverage that awareness into the things we need the most: volunteers and donors.
Volunteers are the heart of the BBBSMA organization. It is vital that we recruit the much needed male volunteers so we can fill the 1000+ waiting list of young boys who have requested a Big Brother.
Also, it is critical to the organization to have ongoing financial support through fundraising efforts.
In support of these endeavors and in celebration of our 50th Anniversary, we will launch several events in 2010:
• “Big Experiences” Recruitment Challenge
• Facebook recruitment application
• “Make It Big” Commercial Challenge
• “Flip for 50”
• Atlanta’s Biggest Role Model
• BBBS Radio Challenge
• Recruitment advertising campaign
• “Bring Your Little To Work” Day
We are excited about the things we have accomplished over the last 50 years, but there is so much more to come in the next 50!
